I know there’s been a fair bit of discussion previously regarding what trolley jacks everybody uses, I’m just hoping to throw another thinking point out there…

Maybe I’m just lazy, or I like gadgets (definitely true) but I’ve been thinking about different jacking methods lately, particularly some sort of system that may be air operated.

My two thinking points are either something that is quick and air operated that can do one end of the car at a time… or something that is big enough to do the whole car at once… like a hoist but cheaper and smaller as I don’t have the roof height for a real hoist.

I’m thinking something like this

But self constructed out of some truck air bags if I can find some at a wrecker somewhere

Or possibly a pallet jack to do the whole car. Anyone thought of/done a pallet jack before? Not sure if they’ve got the height needed to get the car to a useable height off the floor?

Ideas?

I have a professionally made air powered floor jack and it works very well but the problem is the height of it. It is not much use on Mini's because of the head sticks up too far and it doesn't fit under. Otherwise, it is very convenient but my Chinese made aluminium floor jack is my favorite. I can even slip the handle off and pop it on the floor or boot of my Mini.
