It is actually supposed to be held in the mouth of the mechanic while fitting these kits. This will ensure to do not bite your tongue when doing the job. Sorry I have never seen one. Perhaps you should ask the Part supplier for more info. |

I think it goes into the rubber spring threaded part to plug the hole. Like late Mokes had an alloy buffer in there. It stops crap going down through the rubber cone and sitting between the alloy and the thread, corroding it and seizing it up. In dry old Oz and with a bit of never-seize, these are not required on our roads. I had a jap-import Rover with a set on and all the alloy cones had a big flat plastic cap sealing off the end opposite to the threaded end. So I reckon this plug is for the rubber spring thread hole. That's why it is rear only. Maybe?? I AM just guessing... M |

You need to have the thread clear to fit the compessor tool in. The threads are so in-accessable that once it comes time to fit the plug, you won't be able to. If that is where they fit on the rears, what's the point? They are not at all prong to water getting in there, they are horizonal and the thread is not needed on the rears. Why not email them to find out. |

I figured they were for pluging the thread hole but I had newer rubbers without the hole so I chucked them. As the rear cones don't wear as much you can swap them to the front and put new ones in the back when the front ones collapse, so this plug would help keep the thread clean for installing in the front at a later date ....... Just my assumption. |

I just got a set of Hi-Lo's and the back ones came with these little pluggies. I figured they were for the holes drilled into the side of the aluminium cones. Trouble is they were pretty loose there, and I can't see why the devil you'd put them in there as it seems counterproductive to draining the water and junk out. They came stuck in the end of the extension bars for the rear, holding the plastic wrapping in place. They could go in there, but I can't see that they'd serve any purpose. I think I threw mine out. |
