Hi lads any one have a photo of the way they plumbed it up and how they mounted it and where? The way I was thinking is a blanking cap on the rad & a reclaiming cap on the Morris tin tank with a over flow, one pipe to the ground the other plumbed back into the radiator over flow? Is that close? Pics would help ![]() |

you describe it perfectly... tin tank bottom outlet to the radiator (blanking cap) tin tank with pressure cap and overflow to the outside world. i ran the tube across the firewall under the carby and the tin tank is on driver's side inner panel no pics as it is WAAAY to cold to go out to the shed ![]() |

I have mine fitted high up inside the passenger side guard. On Oz shells, there's even a hole provided to pass the hose through. Its worked well on this car (>2yrs) and on my previous mini as well (>5 yrs). Its never been bothered by stones or road spray either from what I've seen. |

Oh...cheers Yeah, I suspect they did it that way to make it harder to mix up (but still happens) |

hee hee,,, maybe it`s just that "some" people think that it would be cheaper & easier to attempt to re-invent the wheel instead of just trundling down the road to their local parts supplier to buy a std issue $8 radiator cap,,, simply because there`s a possibility that they could save $3,,, & in turn not be too worried about their local parts suppliers going broke/bankrupt but hey???,,, what`s that matter???,,, the local parts supplier doesn`t spend their day helping anyone out with advice or service or support or a good laugh &/or maybe a beer now & then hey??? It`s not like anyone really may 'NEED" them later on when they`ve gone down the tube & sitting on welfare because you can still & always rely on the companies overseas to have a chat & a laugh & give quality advice & have a beer & a laugh with them right??? times are hard at the moment & i expect it will only become harder,,, & yep only the strong survive right??? natures way isn`t it???? well nature also dictates that locals help out other locals yeah??? isn`t it the Aussie way??? naaaa,,,, bugga that,,, $3 saved is $3 saved & it all adds up right??? Hey Maybe we could all get together & do a "group oreder" of radiator caps??? yeah??? who wants one??? lets all start a list & do a bulk buy & share the costs & we could all maybe save $3.50,,, that`s another 50cents each saved there ![]() crickey it might all add up to a saving of 500million dollars one day ![]() sorry,,, i get a little Tetchy about this,,, even though i do (on occassion) use the chinese manufacturing industry myself,,, but hey "Some" things needed to be made to keep our lovely cars running & looking nice,,, & it just isn`t economically viable to make a part here that costs 500million dollars, when it can be made in bulk in China for $14 dollars But---> Most of the big mini parts suppliers here in Aust """KNOW""" that i support them & i also try to "SHARE" my orders around them all to give everyone a piece of my (some-what small) orders we "ALL" should at least """TRY""" to support these guys,,, otherwise they just won`t be there later-on when you find that you really do "NEED" them rant over short reach 13lb cap Nick,,, it`s not hard,,, just because you don`t know doesn`t mean it doesn`t exist , or hard to get,,, or even dear/expensive---> (Hey Lockie) ![]() |
