Pulled this out today to change in a thicker oil.

Not expecting it to last too much longer, just long enough for my replacement car to be ready lol

Has the motor had regular changes in the past or is all the metal a new occurrence?
I have seen motors with this much metal in one oil change that have lasted years with regular changes.

Here is one of mine...

Try changing the oil again at 1500 miles or 2500 km and see what it is like.

I changed the oil after my gearbox started making funny noises. This is what I got.

It's a good thing they put a magnet in the gearbox then!
I get hardly anything on mine now, all the fine stuff gets trapped in the spin-on filter can by 2 external `rare earth' magnets.

I have 4 on mine even though the nay sayers claim its snake oil.

Anyway, i say always inspect closely what you find, if it's fine particles then carry on, if it's chunky like my last oil change where i found bits of diff you have a problem.
