Hi All,
Looking to purchase a set of wheels and tyres from Huddersfield Spares in the UK.

Any one dealt with them and experiences feedback etc?

Thanks in advance
Ian

mmmmm.... Mixed.

They have some pretty cool stuff that you don't seem to be able to get anywhere else... like the cobra interior kits, and the heavy duty adjustable suspension set ups.....

On the whole they've been pretty good to me... I did have one order a couple of years ago (seats) that I ordered express AND PAID FOR AS SUCH, which after a month I gave them a ring to say "Erm hey guys... WTF IS GOING ON!",, the lady I spoke to went for a walk to dispatch to find they'd been sitting there for 3 weeks.... so they sent it over and threw in a whole interior kit with it! I was just happy enough to get my seats but hey, I thought it was a very nice gesture (especially considering that they interior kit was twice the price of the seat alone!)

So yeah, I guess that I would probably give them the thumbs up.... Others may have other opinions.

If it's just wheels you're after, they're likely to be cheaper from
www.midlandwheels.com

I think most of the wheels are about 80pounds cheaper from there

Here's a thread full of reviews from people who bought new rims from midlandwheels

Hi Adam,
I was looking at the Revolution 10's

Midland have their version of them but i like the look of the genuine centre caps...

wonder if they are interchangeable...?

Really?

Huddersfield are cheaper?

Is that including postage though..?

Last time I checked, I was looking at revo's with A032R's and it was cheaper at midland

Not sure about the centrecaps sorry!

Go the revo's, mamba's are becoming very overdone now that repros are available.

Yeah Hudder's are $469 Vs $508 GBP

Do you know if the 6x10's will fit on a cooper S front end (standard Flares) 7&1/2 disk brakes?

I only know that the new Mamba's are way more offset than the original ones.

Not sure what they do and do not fit unfortunately..

How much is shipping from huddersfield compared to midland?

I can never get shipping quotes out of huddersfield for some reason..

quoted $183 GBP

So this is for a set of 6x10 Revolutions with Yoko 008's

which at today's rates comes out at about AUD$704

Fitted balanced, caps and nuts included.

Delivered in about 7 days!

I found Huddersfield wheels are a better quality than Midlands.
The Midlands wheels appeared to be cheaper copies when I looked at them at the IMM in 2009.

I like them, see my sig :)

I bought 6 supertrax mags for my Moke, they only sent 4 centres (which would be ok, 2 were for spares) so I flicked them an email, they sent another 4 centres within one week!
I have used them for a number of other parts, has worked out about half of the local cost delivered to my door :)

I have always called them before completing the order to confirm shipping costs, if you don't they will email you with a corrected figure before taking your money which is good!

I bought a set of seats from Huddersfield. They were pretty helpful actually, because I told them I wanted to keep it under $1000 to avoid duty + GST so they knocked a bit off their original shipping quote.

Now I'm trying to find cream vinyl to match the seats to do the rest of my interior and they've said they'll happily send over the vinyl for me to work with because it's hard to find a good match here.

Just make sure you ask for what you want quite specifically, but I guess that goes for anywhere you're buying from, especially if it's on the other side of the world.

Hi Gruhms,
Thanks for the note, they seem fine to me and from other threads it looks like if you do have a problem (not impossible when shipping across the other side of the planet) they are proactive and help out!

Now the hardest part of all, convicing the daughter that anythign other than standard won't kill the car's character :?

I bought 6 Yokohama 12'' tyres in May, they were slightly cheaper for the tyres & dearer for the freight than Minispares, but after i gave the freight price Huddersfield beat it, anyway cost me $103 AU per tyre delivered to my door & took only 4 days to get here.

Bought from Huddersfield before & will do so again,

Doogie
