Post subject: | Lower rebound rubber bolts? |
Does anyone know the size and thread of the bolts that secure the lower rebound rubbers to the front sub-frame? Ive painted and prepared my subframe but when I went to put the new rubbers back in Ive noticed there's no holes so I must have sheared the bolts and forgot then painted over it ![]() I assume it uses 2 bolts and not just one and a locating pin? |

1 only each side, pretty sure they are just self tappers.. [goes to check Mini King cattledog...] yep GHF425- screw, self tapping, multi use, SD1/SE |

I think they were self tappers too, but mine were stripped and nothing held in there, so what I did was tap it #10 UNF (or M5 equivilent) and put a Button head screw in there. Far more secure. |

They are 10-32 (or sometimes referred to as 3/16" UNF). |

While where on the topic: the castor rods, do they have one or two cup washers for the rubbers, each side. |

Only one, between the outer rubber and nut. |

The subframe should have a cup washer fixed to both sides So it goes tie bar -> bush -> subframe cup washer -> other side subframe cup washer -> bush -> outer washer -> nut -> then sometimes an R clip (if the tie bar has a hole drilled) |

There's a Cupped Washer and Flat Washer (which is similar OD to the Cupped Washer). Remember, most of the braking force is tranmitted through these to hold the rest of the car back! The forces on them can be huge. ![]() ![]() |

The late cars just had the cupped washer, but it is about 3 or 4mm thick, is that more than the early ones? |

I've not measured the thickness of them, but they are heavy, probably around the 3 mm mark. <EDIT> Here's some I prepared earlier ![]() |

If you can't get an original parts manual get hold of Mini Kings Catalogue - it has all the sections with numbered exploded diagrams. |

Does anyone know the sizes of The upper bump stop bolts, Two screw type. The castor rod bolts The lower control arm bolts I assume these are all ny-lock? Any help would be appreciated, It will save me a trip across town. |
