Ok, total lameo question I know, but I want to make sure I get this right.

It's been about 3 years since I stripped my mini down and now it's finally going back together, but I'm a little confused about how the master cylinders and brackets go on.

There's the big flat plate with a rolled edge around it and the 2 holes in it. I assume this goes first, then the gaskets, then the master cylinders.

Then I've got all the engine steady brackets and stuff, but I'm jiggered if I can even remember which side the engine steady goes on. There's the flat plate with 2 holes that I thought could go under the master cylinders, but the brake master is too fat to fit through. Then there's the 2 angled bits with the holes for the bolt of the engine steady (I think).

If someone could just post up a pic of their bulkhead, that'd probably do me.

Any help appreciated.

So I think I may have figured out at least part of it. There's an engine steady under the clutch master cylinder right? And the opposite side of the bulkhead has heater hoses or something running through it?

Am I on the right track?

Where do the other funny angled brackets go, ther'es an L-shaped one and an L-shaped one with an upside down U (Have I confused anyone else yet)? I'm guessing these go on the opposite side to the master cylinders for an engine steady.

I found an old picture of my engine bay when it looked like the BFG had taken a dump in there. I think the setup I showed in the last post looks right. I'd still be more than happy for people who know more than me to confirm it though.

It's called Lina Mint. The spraypainter loved it too, once he'd blown his nose. He reckons it's one of the best finishes he's ever had on a car.

This is just between you and me though, ok. My wife would be very upset if there were to be a stack of mini's driving around in that colour.

Just wondering if you put a gasket under the base plate . I'm not sure that they supposed to have one , but wouldn't water be able to find it's way in there without some type of sealant there?

I did wonder this myself.

I've got a gasket under the plate on the passengers side, and I've got gaskets for the master cylinders on top of the plate. I do have a gasket that could go under the plate for the masters, but the hole is too small for the brake master to go through. I suppose I could just enlarge it.

Mine has a gasket between body and steady bracket: its not normal gasket paper / card but more of a waterproof sponge material that compresses more.

Yeah, that's the stuff I've got. I've got proper gaskets for the cylinders and then the spongy sort to go under the plates.
