looking to buy a new headliner and just wanting to make sure about the colour. I know the english cars had the cream crackle in 65 but did the australian minis have the same? or just the grey?

Looks like you are looking to buy from the UK. I tried that through Mini Sport, but the "C" panels where completely different and if you can't match the material here your "C"panels will be different. Sent mine back for a credit. It took 3 months by sea.

I think at some stage an aussie made vinyl replaced the cream crackle but it continued to be a cream colour but more of a "grain" pattern.

In fact the sunvisors continued in the crackle pattern at least until late 68 as that is what my car has, likely they just kept importing them complete from the UK.

Cheers, that thread cleared up a few things. I had a tear in the lining and i had a poke inside and found the cream crackle lining underneath. I then had a quick search and only found info on british made minis that the crackle was up till 68(i think from memory). Then i looked at newton's and found they made the australian headliner. I'll keep the post boards i got in the car just incase..
