Post subject: | Aston Filler Caps - Pics? |
Anyone got some nice pics of twin tanks with Aston caps on? Just picked up a set for Barney's about to be refurbished bum (he's coming home on Tuesday) and need to know which way's up and which is down. Plus, I want to see just how 'phwooooooaaaaar' he will look! Evan |

the flap swings down to open, so it hangs down when it`s open,,, that way you can fill the thing without having to hold the flap up Latch at the top,,, i put it on a slight angle to suit the same line as the rear body seams actually,,, looks more ass-thletic ![]() |

Ill agree with Matt. Catch on top when released it sits and just fill the tank and put the cap on and flip it back up. They do look great also ![]() |

Mine doesnt leak at all. Mine is the type that flips up, and then you remove the cap with a key. ![]() |

To be "Race Track Legal" they require a hole drilled through the catch. A length of twisted SS Lock Tie wire through the hole & across the cap under the hinge to stop the catch moving. Actually ,under the hinge first ,then "figure 8" through a bigger hole in the catch.A couple of twist on the 2 ends is all is required. Stainless Lock Wire lasts forever. All the old Historic Open Wheeelers do this. |
