http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/SANDBLASTER- ... 27bbdf8c29 thinking with the amount that I'm going to pay a sand blaster to do my work, I might get away with this, for future use.. How are you supposed to use this without loosing all the beads to not use again and making a mess? I was thinking of going for a cabinet one, like this http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/SANDBLASTING ... 45fab3d1c3 but then they are slightly to small to fit the subframes in, which is the biggest thing I'd want to blast... ![]() Any ideas anyone? |

You could use the first one, and build a box so you dont lose all the stuff, just an idea |

You do loose all your blasting media and it does make a mess. You need a cabinet or booth to contain the mess and a broom to re-claim it ![]() |

I've used one similar, hooked up to a heffen big compressor It was lacklustre, and only if you stood there long enough... It also had a reclaim system on it (fancy term for a vacuum that sucks near the outlet) Relclaim system did sweet fiddle sticks all, still had to sweep up huge amounts of media |

The cabinet blasters are the bomb. Great for small items. If you have a large compressor, and I mean a good high volume compressor, they work well and save hours from wirer wheeling and sanding. If blasting anything big, don't stuff around, just it to a blasting shop. ![]() |

(that took a painfully long time) |

get a trap, put the subframe on it, lift the corners |

You could line the place in the black plastic they use in construction. Like the home painters do. The garnet won't have enough energy to punch through, like the rubber gloves in blasting cabinets. You can lift the plastic up to gather the garnet together for sieving (with the wife's finest colander) and reloading into the canister. |

The main thing is to make it so you are not breathing the stuff you blast off. A dust mask will last about 3 seconds. |
