In a word, no.

The closest you'll get to interference in an A-series is if you fit a big-bore '940 head to a small-bore block -- in which case you need to pocket the block to allow room for the valves to open, as their spacing and size is greater than the bore diameter.

In terms of interference with the pistons if the cam belt (er, chain) breaks -- unless you have a very high-lift cam and 1:5 ratio rockers, you're not getting close.

Do you mean can the valves hit the pistons? Depends what cam/rockers you're running, but with standard cams generally no, they hardly leave the combustion chamber (if at all).

<edit> sorry Simon.... you and your fast fingers :)

Any hotted up 1275 will be interferance, but worse than that, in the 1275's with the large bigend journels the cam will swipe the rods taking a chunk out of them and the rod bolt.
