Hey Guys,

Around the end of this year I will be stripping the Black Deluxe and flogging alot of the trimmings including the entire shell to help fund and support the 850 build.
I was wondering what is involved as far as removing a car from the road? I guess I can have the rego refunded, hand the plates in and cancel the insurance? Is that it? Do I need to do anything regarding engine and body numbers as I will be putting the 1380 in the 850...

Thanks!

Would it be worth considering selling the car complete less the engine?

Would make it much easier to sell, and easier for the person who takes the project on.

If I were to do another resto, i would want to start with a complete car, or complete car minus motor/box..

Just food for thought

Adam

you shouldn't need to do anything over and above what you listed. You're not disposing of the car yet and the body number goes with the shell anyhow. Make sure you write the purchaser of the shell a receipt which lists the body number only, but as you're keeping the engine don't list that obviously. this is just to make transfer of title easier for both parties if they want to build up and register the shell later on.

Once you hand back the plates and then sell the shell, your obligations to the RTA should be over.
