absolutely correct mate. any engine from the LS will be fine in a 1976, but obviously you will need to fit the disks and relevant 1275 bit that need it. but im sure you know it. only 29 more people .....yey ![]() |

It would in theory need all the 1978 emission crap on it too, but you might get lucky. |

Er... not if you read RTA's engine upgrade rules. A later engine can be fitted but it's supposed to have all its emission gear that it came with, intact. http://www.rta.nsw.gov.au/registration/ ... /vsi06.pdf Scroll down to Emission standards for replacement engines.. ps. my 1275A+ doesn't comply, but it's in a `66 car, and nobody in Oz would probably know what it had originally anyway... including me! ![]() |

i've got one also, though it's a bit of a sad looking thing. it's the blue car in the SE QLD meetup thread. czerial has posted a few interesting things about the 998LS, including an original advertisement (which i think is in the Member's Gallery section - have a skim through there at your leisure). they were made between 1977 and 1978, and i have even known of some that wore 1979 compliance plates (they obviously werent manufactured then - just that they were slow to sell or were leftovers). as for price, it would really depend on how good you are at marketing, and the condition of the vehicle itself. they won't pull as much as their 1275 brethren, that's for sure. but they should, in theory, pull more than a standard or S spec clubman. some photos of your beast would be fantastic. |
