How much stud is left coming out of the head ? You can get a tool for removing studs , and the Snap - On brand one that i have seen , worked really well . Someone on here may have a picture of one so you can see what they look like .Check out some reputable tool sellers to see what they have . |

If there is any stud left, put two nuts on the stud, lock the nuts together and then try undo the stud. |

whatever you do... DON'T TRY TO USE AN "EASY-OUT" !!! if there isn't any stud poking out, remove the head before you try anything, its just too awkward otherwise - always ends in pain |

If its busted off flush, drill a hole in it, belt in a suitable allen key and twist it out. Worked everytime for me |

I've found torx bits work very well as "easy outs" ![]() The only times i've seen people using easy outs they have broken, making it even worse |

Im yet to find an easy out that works, If that doesnt work then drill through and helicoil. If you dont have a pedestal drill then find someone who does and make sure its square. |

In my trade I was taught to do this properly.... Drill it on centre (and square) to the tapping size for that thread, then screw a tap in. Bingo the stud's remains come out easy. If the stud is broken off crooked I drill it out in the mill, using a slot drill not a twist drill. ![]() |
