Looks like a bitza! Front valance looks like pre 65. Wiper motor is from after 68. (with the early wiper pattern!) UK boot lid. Clubbie tail lights Lift up door handles. Clubman interior and column. Body is a roundie. (it is not a clubbie with a nose job.) It would be interesting to see what the numbers on the ID plate say. |

Certainly seems to be a cut n shut, though I guess somebody could have put in the time to change B pillars before it was painted. EDIT: just read the description: yep cut n shut. |

Sure looks like it to me, even the inside the lower dash is clubby, maybe early clubby circa 72-73 grafted to a 65 deluxe firewall/wings.... cheers, |

Not many people would change the firewall when doing a nose job. It's possible though. |

A '64 bonnet won't fit a clubby firewall unless you relocate the hinge mounting position. I was going to suggest that it was a flappy door handle Mini K with clubby taillights, but it has a full front valance. There used to be a Mini with a UK bootlid getting around Hobart a long time ago. It could be the same car. Tim |

originality aside, would it be a rather rust free, decent engine mini at a reasonable price? oh and 'cut n shut'? |

"Cut & Shut" - it's the front of one car (the claimed '65 model bit) grafted to the back of a much later body. You'd want to hope the claim of "professionally done" is correct and have a damn close look at it. If you're not too sure yourself of what you're looking for, take someone who does know their stuff with you for their opinion as well. If it all checks out OK and you're not too fussed about its lack of originality, it's probably worth having a decent think about. After all, it's still a Mini. ![]() |

Supposing the panels were individually removed and correctly welded back to the car, then it would be considered okay, but if it looks like there is a join in the floor and or roof then it's not been done properly, and would therefore be a 'Cut and shut', which is illegal as it messes with the vehicles structural integrity. I know where there is a 1275LS with a weld running clean around the middle of the roof and floor. Once this was found out, the car was written off, and will never see the road again. ![]() |
