Post subject: | Perth Rover aircon issues help?! more help needed 25th Aug |
My newly purchased Rover mini is going through a new ownership freshen up and as part of that i need to get the aircon working.... Now i don't have a Rover manual or wiring diagram so i'm starting on a bad foot, but i have a plan... Ask you guys..... Or if there is anyone in WA who may be able to assist for a side by side test we may get somewhere..... Or if anyone can recommend a good WA aircon mob!?!? here is a snap of the wiring, now first circle in red on left is a relay that always has 12v and the second relay seems to have to small hose inlet/outlets but nothing on.... These relays are down stream of the aircon switch yuu can see next to radiator All help much appreciated!!! ![]() ![]() |

Hi, Second one; with the air inlet and outlet is a part of idle stepper. on side connects to inlet manifold and other side to second part of the idle stepper (which pushes the idle up when the air/con is running ) I will put the pictures tomorrow. |

i beleive the one with the constant is wired to your receiver dryer which is the pressure cut off switch, (it turns on/off your aircon when it has reached the temperature) |

Hi, You really need the second part if you wanna compensate the RPM when running the air con. But if you keep the idle high you can get away without it too. I only stall the car once when I slammed the brake (when I did not have the set up) If the car is manual you don`t really need it on my opinion. |

ok some progress.... Due to missing a few pieces.. (Can anyone help with the idle up?!?!) I figured out that i should be getting a positive feed to the condensor and the small type cannister thing with the window that you can see in the picture next to rad... So i used the perm positive feed on the far left circled relay and put power to the black/red wire from the vac thing in right circle a bish bash bosh... condensor clutch kick in and hey presto.... i was getting aircon light on dash but no power... could it be a relay fault??! |

Bottom pipe connects to inlet manifold top part to the second unit(3rd picture) which pushes the idle bracket when air con on so RPM doesn`t drop( it is adjustable) |

i have now figured that the black/white wire is the feed and i traced it back into the dash, so pulled it all out and found it goes into another relay, now this relay is similar to the under bonnet relay with a perm feed. It has a white perm feed, 2 blue wires and the black/white feed to underbonnet. Now on pressing the aircon switch i get the switch light up and power goes to both the blue wire but not the black/white wire, so on the relay 3 of the 4 are powered which makes sense as you need an earth but when i jump a positive to it hey presto i have aircon action! lol Anyone got any ideas or wiring diagram, i have tried the old switch the relays but same deal!!! |

I have a workshop manual on disc, i can make a copy and send you. I have done an idle up setup using a toyota 'air bleed' system, a lot tidier and simpler. i don't know how to put pictures up , but i could email one to you.[/img] |

![]() this is your idle up, its a diaphram that is run by this black box (i think from memory) ![]() either way it uses manual idle up, the diaphram pushes the carby butterfly open slightly more to compensate for the pull of the A/C that might need some adjustment when yo get it all working |
