Post subject:  legal tyre treads? A032R and A048R????

Hi guys,

Just thinking of getting a set of either 4 yoko A032R tyres or A048R tyres. However before I do, was hoping someone could tell me are these treads legal for on road use?

Thanks heaps in advance!

Yes they are road legal, however do not expect to get a lot of life from them..
Be fine on a weekend warrior though.

as the Doc said yes they are legal.

When i was buying new rims and tyres and i was goign to get the a032 R's but heard they didnt last very long so went with YOKO's A008's and im extremely happy with them, these compered to bridgestones or faulkons are chalk and cheese.

AOO8's are a bit cheaper too compared to the AO32's, but if my car was a club car/weekender etc i would go the AO32R's.

I dont think these are meant to last for-ever either, but i would buy another set.

I am pretty sure they come in two different compounds...
normal and soft.
I'm not sure what people normally use.
But it would make a decent difference in tyre wear.

They are difined as a road legal tyre, they have a wear indicator, no problem as a road tyre.

How does the Dunlop D93 compare to these, ie wear, grip etc?

a048's are supposed to be a bit better than D93J's - but I doubt you'd notice the difference on the road

I wore out a set of D93J's in 5000km - and when I say worn out, all 4 were past the wear marks

Thanks Simon,
The Dunlops are $50 cheaper than the Yokos, thats one extra tire!! i can buy five so i dont have an odd spare.
