| Post subject: | Is there anything recommended for new steering rack? |
Hi guys n gals, Just in the throws of fitting a new steering rack into my Rover and wondered if there were any suggestions about any pre fit prep to the rack? You guys know all the tips and tricks..... All the feedback is much appreciated |

If it's an imported rack, I would untie the RH boot from the tierod, put some 90/140 gear oil in a pressure can and squirt ~100mL in there. Then put a new cable tie back on. Don't be surprised if it doesn't last long these days- I'd keep your receipt for warranty. 
They ain't made as well as they used to be.... regardless of what some Mini shops say. And, they are non-repairable. |

Step #1 - Return the Rover rack. Step #2 - Get a rebuilt aussie rack. Step #3 - Double check step #1 & #2 were done. Step #4 - Put in said aussie rack. Step #5 - Enjoy. |
