I would say it's a 65 morris mini de luxe, but morris 1100 would be the best person to ask

It is not a 65 Deluxe with that number. The number is too high for a 65 Deluxe and too low for a 65 Mini 850.

Does the car have an ID plate?
What is the "Type"
What is the "Car No"

Where is the number 20964 stamped?

Im not 100% on what you mean but ill do my best.
eYes it has an ID tag. The number i got is off the fire wall above the clutch and brake master cylinders.
Its a round nose mini? Im only new to minis sorry. still got a lot to learn.
Hope this helps at all?

hi that does help thank you. the body type number says YMA2SI but the list you show suggests it's meant to be a 1 instead of I.
Would "I" mean anything or am I right in saying that it's supposed to be a 1?

They are cool to drive if you park the 850 motor under the bench and fit something big that GOES!!! Put it back in if/when you sell it. Better improve the brakes too...
Sorry, but stock 850s on the road don't work for me any more (one was my 1st car in 1964)- with their 34HP now they are just a rolling chicane.
They do look nice in car shows and museums though. 8)

850's are fantastic cars

Dont think because they came out with the smallest engine that they're the lesser car.

850's will be the next Cooper S price wise, count on it

There's something especially charming about 850's, that just isn't present on other cars - or maybe i'm just bias.

Mine is unfortunately far from original, that is how i received it. It has a 998 in it and im not sure about the brakes but the doors have been changed to wind down instead of sliding. i honestly dont know what the differences are between 850's and the others but i would be interested to find out. I have made my car to suit me but thats mainly cos it wasn't original to start with. This is my first mini and i am deffinately hooked :)
