Post subject: | big hole in firewall, in front of carby |
G'day all, Just wondering what options there are for covering/filling the hole in the firewall (in front of the carby). I have seen some plates covering the hole, but i think my ramtube thingy will poke through (when i put my engine back in), so i need something else that hides the wires from the speedo. Cheers |

I take it you don't want to use the original type felt backed vinyl that covers the whole firewall? It makes it easy to fix things when you need to get behind it. |

Havent seen these, sounds good. Though i'm guessing it doesnt allow the the carby ramtube to poke through the hole? |

From my non expert knowledge from what I have seen, if your ramtube/s are that long you will need to move the speedo anyway and install a box into the firewall. With a Redline 3005 type manifold and webber with ramflo filter it will still fit. Others will no doubt offer better advice but thought I would reply to try and help create discussion. It may help if you let us know what your carby and manifold set up is. Cheers. |

what type of carb/manifold are you running? you could possibly buy a shorter ramtube and fit a filter sock over the ramtube. |

I can't really see why that wouldn't fit in normally. It dosn't look any longer than my ramflo filter and it has heaps of room. |
