Post subject:  Dashboards- Ways around a weber box

Hey Guys

I know there have been a few posts similar but I was hoping to see some pics of different dash ideas.
I currently have a weber box and still run the centre 3 gauge cluster but it has continuous issues as its hard against the box. When I do my 850 project I'd like to avoid this but think I'll have to have the weber box, possibly a bigger one than current! I've been looking at the works kit but I don't like how much it sticks out...
Anyone got any pics of a good setup??

Hey Mike,

Unfortunately there's not much choice if wanting a centre binnacle. I made mine slightly easier by screwing 4 long threaded bars onto the firewall. Then the binnacle pops pretty much straight onto the threaded bars and nuts/washers go over the top of that. Then the std S cards on either side hides the rest. Yes it's fiddly but no more than any binnacle I suppose.

I did have to do a fair amount of work re-routing all the cables through a hole on the driver side of the firewall just next to the box, but if you do it all right the first time there shouldn't be much issues? Only additions are a 90 degree speedo cable bracket and an extra long oil pressure hose to the gauge, that's about it really. A few cables had to be lengthened, but nothing too drastic.

I've had no issues with mine in 2yrs, what's the problem that you mention?

You're welcome to have a look at mine for some ideas?
