Help needed. Story so far. Brother bought an 850 which is fitted with a replacement 850 engine, a full (4) synchro box with the remote gearchange and the rubber type universals.
Motor has been rebuilt with flat tops bored out to about 60 thou.
Still running a rebuilt 1.25 inch SU.
Don't want to fit extractors at this stage, don't want to cut up the inlet exhaust manifold and want to keep the original look.
The cars exhaust was rs. I still have it propping up a side fence.
Bought a very good 850 system from Mickmini (before he went OS -yes it has taken that long). Fitted the engine g box but drivers side uni requires the taking off the drivers suspension. Tried to use 850 system, got the clamp on the manifold but the pipe fouled the flange on the drivers side of the gearbox, so fitting the universal joint was no chance.
Have tried to wrestle it on but no luck.
Need the Deluxe, 1100 K type of system.
Question, where do I get an engine pipe from the flange to the muffler?
There are flange repair kits.
If none are available off shelf, then should I just take the old one in the box trailer down to the local exhaust guy.
Easily :?

Sounds a bit strange that an 850 type exhaust will not fit. I have extractors and rubber universals on my van and the fit OK.

I have searched 3 local Mini shop sites for the stock 850 type pea shooter front pipe, with no joy. All they seem to be flogging now are 3 into 1, 3-2-1 and LCB systems.
You may need to buy the flange repair bit then take it and the old pipe to your local exhaust shop.

The Deluxe or K engine pipe is shaped differently to miss the remote shift.
Just go to a good exhaust place and get them to order a Deluxe engine pipe.

I have a complete near original P shooter pipe from manifold to to rear end including a muffler - if it's any help it's yours but it is in Brisbane

Thank you Doc, Morris, Michaelb and Wombat.
I think I will put the towbar back on the VR and load up the trailer with assorted exhaust bits including the old one and visit the local guy who did work on my old Magnette.
