My thoughts exactly! Have just fit two CV boots and two pot joint boots, and at no time did I feel like I needed.....one of those. I'm thinking there's a few dodgy 18+ shops a bit closer than europe that could have sold you something similar....

I'm kinda stumped as to what it's use is too.

Unless the idea is to spread a new boot over the complete cv joint so you don't need to take the joint off the shaft to fit a new boot? But that doesn't really seem like a good way to go about it

Pretty obvious how its supposed to work - but I wonder how many boots actually get to the bottom of the tool before splitting..... Be somewhat surprising if the new aftermarket bits are as tough and flexible as the OEM bits.

I reckon you will have as much joy with a cone nicked from your local sporting club and a bit of rubber grease.

Or you could just get one from ebay and not have the local parents hunting you down

Ahh I see. It was much bigger than I had imagined

I have used one before on a mates car, they are great.

Cut the old boot, clean up re pack some new grease in.

We had borrowed one of the air compressor type ones where you slip the boot over the tool And stretch it with air (click the trigger) and slip it over the cv.

The cone works the same, they are used alot.
I could take the whole shaft out hit the cv off etc, but I'm happy to do it this way, saves me time and it works fine. 2yrs in my mates stretch boot is still going strong same cv.

Yeh looked around could not find one local, only the exspensive compressor type.
