Cone compresor. What's the going price, and where is the best place to buy one. Is it worth having a thread turned onto a piece of high tensile rod and making one?

I made one - then discovered I had a mix of metric and imperial threads so bought the correct one from Mini Spares with both threads - easier in the long run

I was considering making my own - is there any way of telling from the year which thread (metric or imperial) is required?

I think you will find any new cones are metric but your old ones you need to take out are imperial - Catch 22

Rick, That would be much appreciated I'll send you a PM as soon as I'm ready to swap my cones over. Seeing as we are local to each other It might be good to catch up.

Thanks
Steve

Sorry mate, had pot joints on mine that weren't very old and recycled the lot.

Yeah, had a look at it in my 'wanted'post. Two things - my subby is in the car and I wouldn't get enough lift with an inch of thread on a bolt.
