Kev any thought. Looks like not many have tried them. I even entered in that thread

Edit. Iterestested as most back plates for for 1 3/4 are actually 1 3/4 but most flange to the filter is rounded off is any filter back plate larger to accomdate this radias

Hey Gaf,

It works really well. Can be a pain to get the filter on and off because of the tight space and the stub stack which is really no different to a K&N or pipercross type. It works better than a K&N because there is no plate at the front (back on a mini) of the filter that interferes with the shock waves that travel back up the intake from the valve and cause tuning issues according to Keith. They are used alot in the UK.

I cannot remember if the back plate is bigger to accommodate the radius on the HIF's, I'll have a look at the original photos (the original car is a bit buried at the moment).

cheers

Kev

I run one of these with a stub stack on a HS6 on a GR manifold. Yes the filter base plate need modding to fit the HS6 as it's made for a Hif.

And now their are three of us. I picked 1 up today. I did a trial fit with the 55mm filter without the rubber spacer and i like it a lot already. I can see its going to rub so a matter to ensure the rubbers on the engine stabilizer perfect.
The thing I like. Back plate clears everything as its off set. back plate Entry hole to the hif44 is larger than the radius on entry. The Filter well everything about it 7 its easy to fit.
Thing I'm worried about is the it does touch the fire wall but time will tell.
I'll take a few pics on Sunday to document the filter

more important I have to get the cab working properly. This is a refurbished Hif. My other 1152 also running a HIF44 has a BDU which this new carb didn't like so i tried a BFY which I'm still riching up to get it to idle & rev properly. i havent taken it for a run yet to see how it is in the rev range. but i know I need a richer needle

So, what is so great about an ITG foam filter compared to a Lynx Ramflo with a Unifilter LNX300 foam inside it? These flow 300cfm, which is heaps more than even a GR manifold... and a Ramflo clears the firewall too.

Hi Gafmo,

i run one of these ITG 's with stub stack, i like it a lot but have no real power measurements over the oval K&N... it "felt" better... but maybe it was just in my mind!

Speedo clearance with HIF44, MG Metro manifold and 1/2" spacer is minimum, i had to use an angled spedometer drive adaptor.
I think it will be a challenge to use this ITG once i fit the GR manifold.

Cheers
Luis

well I took it for a run this afternoon with he BFY and she ran okay. Need more work on the needle so I think I'll take her to Greig and get him to do a Dyno and get it perfect.

Mine is actually a Pipercross and will be interested to see the difference between the PX and the ITG as they look very similar from the out side & Base plate. I have a Minispares manifold with the 1/2"spacer and will not use the provided spacer with filter. This is for two reasons. The Back plate is wider than the entry on the inlet which has been radius on the HIf44 so thats perfect anyway, I also have the filter up close to the fire wall.
I can see I'll put a alloy play for daily driving to ensure minimal ware on any edges of the filter.

Pics on Sunday of the PX & fitment

Kev, there is no way I could use my old Ramflo with the nice stub stack that was supplied with the ITG by MED. Apparently the ducks nuts.
