ah yeah usually 5/16ths UNC in the manifolds i

& 5/16ths UNF for the carby end (for the nuts)

& if you go the "Booka Rod" (threaded rod) like the Doc said,,,then you can just use that & UNC nuts on the ends

:-)

doh!

dropped past, they didnt have any spacers, so stocked up on gaskets, bought carby home and test fitted, turns out there is enough clearance not to warrant the need for one, i may in the future get a bling DrMini special to increase volume, but for the time being i think it will be fine.

On another note, i had a good look at the MS manifold this arvo, actually pretty decent, was already opened up to suit 1 3/4 and i only really touch the inside walls to smooth out the cast imperfections....

Happy chappy, and will test fit maybe over the weekend...

Matt,
Check the ports align with the manifold gasket and stud holes..
I had to TIG weld then mill the flanges of one once, they were 3mm out.
Whoever machined it in UK obviously didn't give a rat's. :x

Is this on the head end of the manifold? the carby end is perfect, i feel that the ports ends will probably be a bit on the big side, as i recall the intake ports on my head werent that huge... thoughts?

Doc, what is the size of the grub needed to blank off the hole on top of the manifold?

Head side- not carby. The dud one had the 2 ports 3mm > out of pos to the studs.

Grubscrew is 5/8 UNF.

Cheers Doc (as usual),

Still have to get a few more things before i put it on, if it is out by a long shot, what is the best way to over come the issue? closing up the manifold or opening up the head intakes?

You mean the sizing, if they line up OK and there's a diameter difference, open the head out a little to match.
If the ports are out of line, you will need to get GR to TIG weld 2 stud slots then bring it here and I can fix it on the mill.
