Post subject:  Where to from here? Rear subframe
Hi guys, i have started stripping my rear subframe and i'm stuck on how to get this pin out, can i just bash it out with a hammer or is there a trick to it? I know it is a bit of a noob question but i just want to be sure so i dont kill any bits.

From this view do i bash it to the left or the right?

There is no need to Bash anything...
You have to remove that outer bracket.
You have already removed two of the bolts.
There are two more bolts holding it to the subframe.
They are located above and below the shaft, inserted in the opposite direction to the two you have already removed.
They are probably hidden by grease and dirt.
Have a dig around with a screw driver and you will find them....

I stumbled on the same thing, hidden under all that grease.

The handbrake cable is just held down by bent tabs, just bend them up a little and pull it out.

And you can also spread the corner wedge pieces so you can pull the cable out of these as well

When you re-install the handbrake quadrants (top pic of handbrake cable) just remember that they are not symmetric (look carefully) and will easily install the wrong way 'round.

And if you do, the handbrake just won't work.....
