I'ld be keen if I get mine running too. I would be good to give a shake down....haven't driven it yet since buying it!

Like 1275LS, I'm only 10 mins from Lakeside!

I might need some help Matt..... Surely freight to your workshop wouldn't cost too much?

Queensland Raceway seem to have a pretty dismal website, so i'm not going to try to find the regulations. But off the top of my head safety requirements:

(note these are only guidelines and should not be quoted)
- Fire extinguisher, mounted with a metal bracket, not a plastic one. Believe it must be in date
- Clothing must be full length sleeves/pants of cotton or whatever else doesn't melt onto your skin. Enclosed shoes (preferably leather or joggers are possibly accepted i think)
- AS1698 (i think thats the number) approved helmet
- seat and belt/s must be mounted properly, in good condition, harness not required
- brakes/suspension/steering/tyres should be in tip top condition.

The scrutineers may only jiggle the steering wheel and press the brake pedal, along with checking the seat/belt, but that doesn't mean you should "scrape by" scrutineering. You will be the one relying on your car to stop and turn when you need it to, so make sure everything is hunky dory. And when checking your brakes, it's a good idea to change the fluid, especially if it only gets done whenever it leaked out last :D

MMM, do you knwo if the standard seat belts do, or do they need to be harness styles?

Standard belts are fine as long as they are in good condition. That means not frayed and coming apart.

Basically, you can use a normal everyday road car, provided it has an extinguisher and you are wearing the correct stuff.
