If you put light pressure on the clutch pedal (enough to get the throwout bearing to engage) does it start to whirr/groan? Or does it only happen when you get it all the way in? |

Mark Yep, I'd agree. If it starts to groan with light pedal pressure, that's it. Pretty easy fix, pop off the clutch cover (the "wok"), dismantle the clutch arm and throwout shaft, then you can drift the old bearing off and press fit a new one. Only hard part is if the "hidden" clutch cover bolt has been fitted, it's a bastard to get out with the engine in the car. |

It'll go for a little while, but eventually the bearing will cry enough and destroy itself. Once its seized, you're then gouging the thrust plate on the clutch assembly which you don't want. Just keep an ear out, once it starts to sound really bad, think about fixing it ![]() |

Replace with one of these and never have to worry about it ever again: http://www.minisport.com.au/prod814.htm |
