Hey, quick question, I've bought a 110mph (180km/h) speedo for my clubman, the old/current gauges are however 160km/h.
If i'm to get an accurate(ish) reading from the speedo should I replace the face on the new gauges with a 160km/h face or 180km/h?
I'm just not sure how the ratios work on the gauges...

I'm using these: http://www.heagren.com/gallileo/

Thanks

It all depends on what the newly bought speedo is out of.
If its out of a mini, then it should work as is but if its from another car changing the face might not be enough.
If its a new electronic one then it should be programmable.
Mine goes up to 300 kph.

In that case you should be okay, is the angle of needle movement the same from 0-100?

Is the diff in your engine the original one with the correct drive, to your knowledge?

To my knowledge its original. I just need to know I guess whether to use the 160 or 180km guage face, if the speedo cable spins at the same rate then itll be the 180km/h to suit the gauge, Correct?

It's not quite that simple....
UK Rover Minis varied the speedo drive gears down in the gearbox for various diff ratios. There are quite a few sets.
But all Oz Minis had only the original 850's speedo drive gear ratio, and we changed speedos for the various diff ratios.
