G'day fellas just wandering what your ideas would be on this,
I haven't driven my car for a number of months I got in it today and the indicator lights just stay on instead of flashing? Also my brake lights have stopped working I have power to one side of the brake light sender but when brake pedal is pushed the other side does not go positive.
Any ideas and thoughts on this will be appreciated

I think that happend when i disconnected my headlights, just have a look over all of the connections,

first thing that comes to mind, yes i know it's silly,,, but it's happened to me, is the battery could be not charged enough after sitting so long. Enough to start the car, but not enough to keep the volts to the lights to enable them flash etc. It's happened to me before. So worth a try on charging the battery or driving it down that awesome lachlan valley highway of yours

other thing to check is the indicator flash bulb unit. It's a small tin like can that usually sits under the dash somewhere or near the pedal box/ igition barrel. It's the flasher unit that tells the lights to flash. They regularly go.

Try those 2 first and see how you go.

Your car may be upset for not being used. Mine do it all the time... few drives later, they are perfect.

More seriously though... my vote is on the battery thing...

Lockie I thought this so had my battery plus my brothers connected by jumper leads and still no flashing maybe the flasher unit is gone? Also any ideas on my brake lights?

I'd say so. Rip the one out of Jarrad's car,, oh wait, no please take the one outta brenton's car for me ,, and stick it in yours and see what happens. It has terminal connections so no need to hack wiring, just unplug and plug back in.

Not so sure without seeing in the flesh about the brake lights, but possibily when you painted/ sanded the car back did a connection get disloged? Around the fuse box maybe? Terminal rusty? Wiggle every terminal back on and just a matter of discounting stuff really. Nothing springs to mind for the brake lights, but definitely try the flasher unit.

I also would agree with Iwannamini, bluey has been doing it reguallry to me since sitting in the shed after my trip. More problems than I ever had on my whole trip away, Not big problems just small little annoying things.. They do have a mind of their own we all know that

Check the fusebox. Give the fuses a wiggle to get them to make contact better.

ok fellas i have checked all the terminals that go to the brake light unit thingy, there is two wires that go to it,
i have cleaned them up with sand paper but still not working.
i have power to one wire which i believe is correct and when the brakes pedal is pushed it should transfer power to the other side, into the wire and down to the back brake lights. but its not going active.
which makes me think maybe its haddit????

Just to throw it out there, if you have an over voltage, the old flasher cans will react by holding the indicators on. It's a bad situation when it happens, so it might be worth checking it out.

I had it a while back when I knocked a voltage sensing wire for the external regulator off its solenoid connection.

Other than that, a broken flasher can is also the most likely suspect.

if it is not transfering power to the other side of the brake sender it meana their is a fault in the sender just unbolt and replace real easy to do

Im guessing that you have the fluid pressure switch on the drivers side of the subframe, if you want to check your brakes lights and the circuit are ok . . . plug an on/off switch into the wires and operate manually, if brake lights work your brake light switch has an "open circuit" or is at fault and requires replacing.
