Hello, I have a older gentleman friend of mine who is wanting to sell his mini. He asked me to value his mini but to be honest Id like some other opinions. Its an early 850 ( im unsure of year) •He is the second owner •The original books are with the car •All of the receipts on servicing there etc •No modifications •Original dealer sticker still on the back window Here are some photos:

Wow! 
I'm no expert on the value of these, but that has to be the best looking original 850 I've ever seen, and would have to be the most valuable... If I were buying, I wouldn't expect change from $10k if it's as good as it seems. It's probably worth more to the right buyer. |

i agree it's a 10k car at least. depending on who's after it and if they're bidding against each other. all i know is don't let one of those classic car shoppe places get it. they'll pay sweet fa more than any of us and put it straight on the floor at 30k... i hope someone here nabs it. lovely car. |

I know of a matching numbers 850 for sale. It's a little rough around the edges but is as reliable as anything and comes complete with period dress rims and roof racks! I hear he only wants $6K too, with 6months rego! |

Theres no way it will go to a Classic Car shop or alike. He wants to see it loved, cared for and used. I think he is a bit apprehensive but has realised he needs to sell it. Just wants it to go to a good home I guess. |

Very nice! Going by the boot, i'd say late 63/64. I'd also say dont sell. if he decides to sell and the rest of the car, floor mats, engine bay, interior are as good as those pics, 10K would be reasonable. The right buyer will pay. What colour is it, got any shots of the engine bay? |

My guess is that it is a 1964 model. My 64 850 had DMW as the original prefix for rego. Smaller number plate flap. |

I wouldn't of said $10000. Going by recent sales, I would say about $8000. People just aren't putting up big money for these. |

I'd say $500 and I am happy to come and collect this afternoon
I agree with the above comment though... although I would have placed $10k - $15k on it a year or two ago, I would say that $8k to $10k is probably more readily achievable. I would hold onto it for as long as I could and wait for better times. |

As many of the other guys have said, the market is depressed at the moment, despite the pollies telling us we are out of the GFC and our economy is strong, there are still a lot of people doing it tough out there. If your older gentleman is concerned about finding a good home then I assume he's not in a rush to sell. I'd say $12-15k could be achievable if he's willing to wait. Have you seen these two on carsales? Good reference points: http://www.carsales.com.au/all-cars/pri ... &silo=1011 http://www.carsales.com.au/all-cars/pri ... &silo=1011 A mate of mine recently sold a 60's merc that was in similarly original condition - he had it advertised for $10k on carsales - he ended up getting close to that but it took several months. I'm sure he would have been able to sell it quicker but would have ended up with a lot less. The new owner came over from Melbourne and was very happy to pay the big $$ for the right car. |

Yes - I agree that the market is not as healthy as it was for collector cars, however, there are still people out there who are willing to pay the right money for the right car. Its still a matter of exposure though and requires some expense getting that exposure in the right media outlets. Mike |

I would think it is worth north of $7k But I also think that is worth what the owner/buyer is willing to sell/buy it for (I would love to get my hands on the seat material for my 850) Very nice little car to get in a collection |
