Sure there are, they made Mini Matics here from `68 until `71.
Mine is 3/1970, compliance plate # is YA2S5 138*
These were all 998 motors, the 1098 only got put into the Morris 1100 automatic.
We never got 1275 automatic Minis, but there's a few getting about with a Morris 1100S/1300 auto (same thing) dropped in.

Nope, there is a list on ausmini of 850s, Deluxes, Cooper S and Mini Ks I think. But these are only members' cars and there is no rego info.
Nobody can be bothered to do one for the `matics. We don't even know how many were made, or exactly when they stopped in 1971.

[edited] for clarity

No there's no Australian equivalent, partly because we have eight different states or territories issuing vehicle registrations and no unifying body. Even if you linked the separate databases together you'd still not be able to account for the cars that move from state to state because they don't record the vehicles previous rego numbers when they are transferred.

am not bothered be it it auto or manual (for clarity)

but just thought it interesting the decline of rego's on that site over the years, and wondered of the comparison out here, be it state wise or whatever

re your thread title we were in UK for a month's tour in May, and I looked out for Minis..
In 4 weeks, I counted only 5 Minis on the road- 1 in England, 1 in Scotland and 3 in Ireland.
So yeah, not many daily drivers!
Of course, they all do come out of the woodwork for shows etc.

Not sure what it is like for other states but here in SA my 850 is just registered as a "Morris Sedan", so even if we could go through the records there would be a lot of searching to actually pick out which ones of those are Minis, and then who knows what model they would be - I'd have to check my rego certificate but I don't even think my chassis number is recorded (it may only be the last 5 digits) which would make it nearly impossible to identify.

Although, chances are that most of the Morris and Leyland sedans from 61-78 that are still registered will be Minis or Minors.

In a recent UK mini mag someone quoted a figure of only about 30,000 minis still registered in the UK, not many!!

Ah yes, but nobody drives them unless the sun is out and there's a show to go to.
We saw hardly any rain there in May, but hardly any Minis either!
Plenty of those BMW pretenders though.
