How bad is your tank? I have ordered a tank reseal kit from Caswell and they advise to shake a handful of gyprock fixing screws inside for a few minutes to remove the bulk of the rust. The outside I have already used a wire brush on the angle grinder. |

POR15 do a kit for cleaning and resealing tanks. I've no personal experience with it though. I've got an Export Moke tank that needs doing, but baulked at paying something like $150 for the POR15 kit. |

The Caswell kit is $79 but for a bike tank. The guy advised that 1 kit should be enough for a mini tank but he sold me 2 kits for $125. Maybe give them a call Brett, they are in Melbourne |

Ive done the por15 kit on my bike tank (22L) worked well, removed all the rust and sealed it. You could even just buy their cleaners to remove the rust. There was a bit of sealant to spare so mini tank should be ok. |

Thanks Michael, I will do that. It's only a 25L Export Moke tank (so I can have twin tanks) which is showing light surface rust on the bottom. So a bike kit might be sufficient. Cheers, |

I used the POR 15 kit. There is enough for two tanks. It did a great job on mine. If you do go that option, make sure you let the product flow out easily after coating the tank, or else it will solidify in the filler neck. |
