Hi all, after the broadspeed dash topic that was just recently around, it got me thinking.
What panels would people want available if someone (like me :D ) could reproduce them out of fibreglass?
Do the track rats on here want wings and door skins for their track cars?
Boots and bonnets maybe?
As I said in the broadspeed topic, I have a couple of molds, and can make molds if people have something that they think is worthy of producing.
Any ideas on this are welcome.

That I have thought about long and hard before! I wanna give it a go, but will take a little more planning. Rather complex shape that one!!

Can I do carbon fibre? Very, very limited at this stage, but I have something planned that will be a monsterous undertaking, incredibly sexy, and never seen before in the mini community! Its also very secret at this stage!

I'll get back to you about the flip front maxx!

Cheap panels that bolt straight on and look 100% standard would be rather popular IMO.
I reckon bonnets, boots, flairs (wood and picket style), front apron spoilers for clubbys and roundies would be popular.

I would imagine doors won't be road legal though unless they get a lot of engineering....on the same note I don't think bonnets and boots are legal either if you want to get technical but who will know if they look the part.
Personally I wouldn't trust plastic doors bit I would be happy with the other bolt on panels.

Great ideas all of them!
Including the sports 850 badge. Get me one and I'll copy it!!(and give the original back  )
I could make the wings, apron, boots, bonnets and door skins, and even make them to ADR specs for composite materials, but getting them engineered is something out of my budget.
That is the reason I sujested in my initial post, "do the track rats want..."
But in the end, what people want to do with them is up to them, and please, dont turn this into another "whats legal, and your an idiot debate!"
Dont know about the wood and picket flares, but I do have the molds for the group 2 "competition" flares for a roundie. Once I give the molds a little TLC, I'll start making them and putting them in the "for sale" section.

Out of curiosity, did anyone like the look of the clubby kit I put up in the "broadspeed dash" topic?

I like the spoilers you see on japanese minis, where it sweeps up to blend into the flares. Obviously the spoiler only suits one style/size of flares, but perhaps as do a deal as a matched set? Almost every other spoiler I've seen on a roundie looks like a generic add-on and detracts from the overall look.

I'll see if I can scout out a pic.
<edit>

Like these (quite JDM-stylee but also very cool)

I normally hate front spoilers on Minis, they make it look like a grader. But that red Mini looks great!

Mini Mac used to sell fibreglass bonnets, boot-lids and flares. He's retired now, so I'm not sure if his supplier is now supplying someone else.

Cheers,
