Which nut are you talking about?
If its the CV one I've had a few drum ones sieze up completely and destroy everything getting them off, however I thought I'd check the obvious: is that the wheel with the backwards thread nut?
:?

yer it is the one to get the cv joint out, i thought the rear hub nut was the only one with the reverse thread? if it is a reverse thread thats awkward for me.

Use a ring spanner and about 3ft or 3in steel pipe same size as street sign pipe for leverage worked for me

And use sidchrome sockets they shoudnt break

Why the use of the extension bar? That will always be a weak point undoing a hellishly tight nut.
I think I got up to a 2 meter bar once on a rusted old one.

Drivers side nut comes off when you take the nut off anti clock wise the left is the same i think

Thats the method i used when i changed mine to get them off

You should always undo the nuts when the car is on the ground engine in etc.

otherwise its nah on impossible to get them off

One solution is to drill a series of small holes about 95% through one flat then use a big hammer and a cold chisel. you bugger the nuts but you can at least get them off

I have a 150mm square lump of 12mm plate with a big hole in the middle, and 4 stud holes. And a bit of 25mm steel bar welded on it sticking out.
On car, I bolt it on then stick a brick under it, off car I grab the bar in the vice. Add a 3/4 drive socket and breaker bar + 1M of steel pipe, and the tight nut is no friggin' problem!
