Hi I am wanting to work out what the internal bore size of the radius arm bushes before its reamed. eg a new one Anyone have one lying about Thanks Kiwiinwgtn |

I have a few `strange' kits here from Mini King (strange in that they have 2x bushes in and no needle bearing, so won't fit most Mini arms except 1959-61..) ![]() Anyway, they are a split (ie rolled) bronze bush, and when butted up round are pretty much size for size on the shaft. I would say after pressing in, only about .005" would need to come out with the reamer, if that. |

Nope you would do better with an adjustable reamer. You can then adjust the size to fit the shaft. I use this one- http://www.machineryhouse.com.au/R726 Cheap but well made. You will need to tap it then screw a guide on, to ensure alignment between the 2 bushes. If you have a lathe you can put one end of the arm on the tailstock centre, and the reamer in the chuck. Like this- (note for illustration only- I need a bigger centre... ![]() |
