So apart from 120 pounds, what is the difference between:

This

The second one's have genuine AP calipers?
Are these mystical beasties worth the extra 120pounds?

Or am I going to be paying for something silly and should just go the cheaper ones?
I know brakes aren't somewhere you should be a skinflint, but I don't see the sense in paying extra for something that's not always better.

AP calipers are maybe not made in China like the noname ones are. And I bet the seals are better quality too. :wink:

Apparently the non AP ones are a "mini sport cast"

I already have a set of the AP ones in the moke, and have nothing bad to say about them
Has anyone had any experience with the non AP ones?

"4 pot calipers may foul on Hydrolastic cars and original 10"steel wheels"

Better decide first what wheels you are using, as I've heard it's not just these that foul.

Ive seen plenty of people with minisport alloy four pots and no complaints apart from them not fitting some wheels.

How ever, this thread is about 'genuine AP' calipers versus minisport cast £120 less calipers.

Ask John Smidt. he told me there is a problem with some cheapo swivel hubs, if these calipers have a problem too I'm sure he would know.

Thanks Kev.

As I said before, a friend of mine bought the 8.4 '' set and apparently the ball joints were ratshit.

Still keen to hear from someone who has bought this set in particular.

The automotive parts manufacturing industry in UK is now about as extensive as ours is in Oz. :roll:

If you are lucky, the parts are made in the EU. If you are unlucky... they come from >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> over there. :lol:

I dunno about you, but when it comes to brakes, I like to know where they came from. Lots of wheel cylinders are Italian made and have been for years,- I have no prob with that (but I'm a Fiat & Alfa lover, LOL).

Why don't you email the supplier and ask who makes em.
