Post subject:  Magnium gadges

Has any one else on here used the magnium capillary (mechanical) gauge? I have a 998 Leyland and when I screw the nut to the block the needle does not seal up against the block and I was hoping someone had a cure for this?

Usually the center part of the pickup is free to move within the threaded outer part. With this type, the loose center part has to be "sandwhiched" between the outer part and a lip inside the hole.

Unfortunately not all the holes have a lip inside. In this case you need to screw in an adapter first that will have the lip inside of it.

Take sender with you to a good auto accessory shop and tell them that it is the correct thread but you need an adapter with the lip inside to tighten the unit onto.
