hey i know its been asked before but i cant find the thread, how do you drain the oil, i need to replace mine its as black as the ace of spades! cheers

you need to get a really thin plastic tube from somewhere like Mitre 10, and put it down the dipstick hole, and suck the oil out - it tastes rotten, and makes your teeth black, but there's no other way to do it...

someone once told me about a big 1 5/16" bolt that goes into the drivers side of the gearbox at the bottom of it, but that just confused me so I've stuck with the plastic tube method....

I use the tube method as well.......Ive welded my bolt to the gearbox because I dont want it to come off......

hmm, maybe not, i think the big bolt is slightly better.... i was wondering if the car had to be on a vertain angle? or sumtink

Ideally, drive the right side up on a brick etc and voila!

hot tip.... get a longer skinny hose so once youve had a mouthfull you can syphon the rest.. and it tastes better if you add some chilli sauce to the oil b4 sucking

hot damn - that's a great idea!!!! - now, how do you get the tube into the oil filter housing, cos I've had the same filter in there for years and years .... :roll:

well, in that case, jack up the front of the car, take both wheels off, swap them over, let it down, then put the wheel that was on your left hand side on the brick - easy

To make it easier, I use a sledge hammer to bend the front of the mini down to a level where it's easier to get to the dipstick hole.

Once you've sucked the oil out, you're ready to pour it back into the top of the engine. Now the oil has been changed, you simply wait until it's in the bottom of the motor to change it again.
