BP (or was it Bosch, I can't remember) on their website recommend going 1 heat range hotter than original, for general commuting running unleaded fuel.
So, BP6ES>BP5ES.

Unless you are thrashing it I'd say the 5s better suit a 1098 anyway.

I'm using 5s in my 114HP 1412 roady, no problemo. 8)
[edit] these are BPR5EY, are a little longer projection than ES but the same heat range.

I'm with the Doc,

I use BP5RES in my 190hp turbo 1293 motor.

they worked best on GR's dyno so thats all i use on the road.

big boost and track days i also have used B8EGV but they are a little too cold i think.

I used to use BPR5ES also however since winding up boost etc ive gone to BPR6ES
I would stick to the 5's for a normal and mild 1098 and 998

Why would you use Iridiums in a classic Mini?? Just a waste of money imho (in fact, I even ran normal plugs in my XR8) just change them more often.

Each to their own but I dont think there is any advantage (even the fact they dont need to be changed as often)

Cheers,
Peter

Really? Wow... you tried both the iridium in a 6 and the normal 6ES ? And the iridium helps with starting? Thats pretty cool.

Are you still running a dizzy or gone electronic?

Cheers,
Pete
