Hey guys posting on behalf of my brother he was driving his car and lost all gears instead of 3rd. The clutch is slipping big time but it won't go into another gear no matter wat u do doesn't even grind to go in like the gear is no longer there |

Some hipsters around the world are all doing single speed conversions. Is your brother one of these rolled leg chino wearing, bike riding hipsters? On track... Sounds like a selector issue. Tell us more about the gearbox.. |

ok hes my brother as well. Its a remote box, so no rods to check. From what i know he can place it in third and then neutral, but he can only find third ever, driving, parked on/off only ever third. Is it possible something has come apart in his gearbox, and affected his oil pressure as well. As from memory he has recently been having a few issues with oil pressure. I will check on this one tomorrow. |

Hey Bubba, Sounds like either (or both) the 3/4 selector fork locating screw has come loose (not uncommon on the boxes) and / or the knuckle joints loose / worn that are on top of the diff housing. LOL, Rod Shift boxes don't have these and so don't have these problems ![]() |

We will check the outside linkages first though. Thanks for your help, will let you's know what happens Brentom |

Thanks for your help, will let you's know what happens Brentom Yeah, the selector fork locating screws are about the last thing to be gotten at after stripping down everything else out of the box. A bloke I met years ago knew just where to drill through the case to get at them from the outside. He'd then screw a tappered plug back in to seal it up. Not my cuppa tea, thanks! Oh, and Brenton, your always most welcome ![]() GT mowog wrote: LOL, Rod Shift boxes don't have these and so don't have these problems ![]() TheMiniMan wrote: i`m with GT on this one

well,,,, i`m starting to wonder now,,, he said something about oil pressure being down too,,, so that makes me think there`s more problems inside than first meets the eye/screen/keyboard maybe there is some major gearbox drama that has shred some stuff & some of that stuff has gone through the oil pump & some of that same stuff has jamed the gearshift mech??? sorry i hate being the mood killer here but maybe there is some "Airport-damage"... yeah , you know --> "Terminal" ![]() |

Okay on a better approach. I would have a gear box here - they know where I live if he needs one. But, like Matt, I think there is more of a problem than just the gear box. I also have a couple of motors here as well. Mike |
