Post subject:  Caliper retaining bolt spring washer

Hi there,

A while ago I bought a 7.5" Cooper S disc brake conversion kit and fitted it to my car, but I'm not sure whether I should use spring washers or loctite or something on the bolts which hold the calipers to the hubs.. Nothing was provided with the kit, but I would have thought these bolts were sufficiently important to warrant the use of some kind of locking mechanism.. Should I use loctite or fit spring washers, or is there some reason I haven't thought of which should stop these bolts coming undone anyway?

Cheers,
Harry

Spring washers on the caliper bolts were original, and work fine- try and find some decent square section ones though (not the chinese bent bit of wire version)

The original spring washers were a Medium Grade. These days we only seem to be supplied with Light Grade
