Yep thats the two cylinder prototype. There are pictures of it fully assembled in Jon Pressnell's book. It was on ebay back in September.

Can anyone find a photo of the V4 that was planned for the ADO16 Morris/Austin1100?

It makes me wonder how they did the gearbox, its not as thought there's a huge amount of spare space in a 4 cylinder Mini gearbox, but if you chopped 2 cylinders worth out of the middle it would be pretty short.

That Twin Cam is sooo cool :D

Makes me want to build a little Mini to put it in!

The twin cam is a Ford Cosworth BDA cut in half.

IMO they cut it a bit too short- should have left another lung on it.

yeah i agree,,, would be nice & sweet & cute with a little 3 cyl in there,

Daihatsu weren`t "Too" stupid i spose :-)

but then the V6 is a thought i had years ago (just out of school) & figured it wouldn`t be too hard to do, nice quad-cam turbo injected alloy V6 would be just right i reckon :-)

oops, now i`m going off the 2-cyl topic (again) :-0

We think 850's are slow these days.

Imagine what a slug a two cylinder 500cc Mini would be.

What about the Fiat TwinAir engine, gets a 900-odd kgs Fiat 0-62 in 11 secs with 84 bhp, top speed 173 kmh. Wonder how that would go in a mini that's 30% lighter?
