Hi All, I'm new to this site and this is my first post. I am the proud owner of a 1967 mini Cooper S.

I have some Cooper S 4.5J x 10 Ventilated Wheels that I wish to recondition but i need to know what the paint code is for the Old English White colour that they came in.

Can anyone help?

Regards,

Brendon

Firstly they werent white, that is English Coopers not Aussie ones. The colour is Silver Birch, the inside of the wheels is red oxide just to be technical. I have a tin in the shed with the code on it. Can get it out on Saturday for you.

Hi Brendon, welcome to Ausmini. Could you please put your location in your profile so other members know whether they are close by and could therefore be of assistance physically.

Would love to see some pictures and a bit of a history of your car when you have time. The Members Mini Gallery is there for this purpose.

So, we're talking...

Silver Birch (Met.) 13260 for the Cooper S 4.5J x 10 Ventilated Wheels on a 1967 mini Copper S?

I don't think so - I had some 13260 mixed up for my '70 car, and it was much too green, I think the correct one is 06968

I purchased a set of restored Cooper S wheels a few years back that had been supposedly repainted in the correct Silver Birch colour and like you Simon they always looked too green to me like there was not enough silver in the mix, just never looked quite right. Not sure what code the painter used but it was definetly too green in appearance.

So it's 06968 then? not 13260?

Here is what I got done for $100- a wheel by Neway in Heidelberg about 4 years ago and the colour looks right to me. Its the same colour as the switch panel.

Paint: Wheels, silver birch metallic 1966 06968 Duco (acrylic)
Bead blast, oxydene dulux, etch prime, acrylic sealer

Hi All, Dropped the rims in yesterday with the original wheel jack that also needed some love. Am getting the rims sprayed with the 06968 paint code.

Pics to come once I get the rims back.

Also, pics to go in the members gallery after I get the car back from the trimmers.

if it's not too late, and if it needs painting, you could get them to paint the switch panel too
