No doubt you noticed that we had an issue yesterday. Some database queries were locked that upset the server the site is running on, which shut down the other websites that are running on the same server, so the host suspended our account till we sorted it out. Poeee and I did some digging around, and I got the host to check if we'd been hacked, but nothing seemed to be particularly wrong. Except that our database is over 800MB, which is a bit on the silly side. The host asked us to think about upgrading to the latest version of phpbb, so last night I had a go at that, and with 850,000+ posts it's taking quite a while to convert! I started it at 9pm, and was up till 1am until I decided I'd had enough - I had to click "continue" every 5-10 minutes for it to process the next batch of posts ![]() I think I can resume the conversion (trying now) and will be able to pick up any new posts between now and when the conversion is complete, so go about your business. There will be another outage when the conversion is complete, then ausmini will be on the latest version of the forum software and will hopefully be a bit more stable Simon |

On behalf of everyone on Ausmini I thank you Simon for the work you do behind the scenes and the time you put in, and to Scott for providing the forum. Is there a link somewhere giving details to make a donation to the running costs? |

![]() it's probably too late now, but I can write you a script to automate the continue-clicking if needed. . |

I also wish to thank Simon and Scott for their work and also to apologise for being one of the many who sent emails asking if here is a problem and therfore distracting them from their repair task. Their response was also appreciated as it stopped me from checking in depth if my own computer had a lurgey. Mike |
