Post subject:  Body number Leyland
Can anyone shed some light on the significance of the body number on the firewall of the leylands?

The car is made in two stages. They make the body and later on they assemble the car. Because it is a two step process the body has its own identification system.
On the firewall will be a number like...
M2
21 For a Leyland Mini

or
M2
22 For a Leyland Mini S/ SS /LS / Sunshine.

And following that will be the number of the body.
