Has any one installed the Minisport Smootha ride kit? My car is sitting way too high at the front and the hi-los are adjusted all the way down. ![]() I fitted the engine today but its is still way too high. ![]() |

sorry Micheal seems comments and photos went at the same time , never had a problem with a body sitting too high only too low, hope you cut the the front guards correctly. |

The Smootharide front cones are pretty tall so it is necessary to set the adjusta rides fairly low. I have a set in my Moke and their height was fine once adjusted. They do settle fairly quickly once they have some pressure on them. Tim |

There is 75 to 100mm gap from the bottom of the bump rubber to the top swing arm I am used to 25mm gap on my other cars |

The new cones will need to bed in and settle a bit from the inital few hundred kays of driving. Check this out, that's a new car on the factory parts! ![]() http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_detailpage&v=okk9U_y4gyQ#t=169s |

Hmm, mine were nothing like that high at the front. Are the cones fully seated in the hi-los? It's the only thing I can think of. I'll have a look at mine when I get home and see if I can think of why yours is riding so high. |

Some of the hi-lo's don't come with enough adjustment to lower the car - seems they are designed with old flattened rubber cones in mind. I had to have mine turned down. The new cones will also take time to bed in as Harley said, you can try strapping it down on a trailer it you want to speed up the process. |

I grabbed this image from your other thread, I assume this is the kit? If so, what I'd do is remove the locknuts from the front cones and run them that bit more shorter, over time you can wind them back out if necessary. The other thing is: Are the kits the same front and back? ![]() |

Yes I think the hi-lo kits are the same between front and back. But I will double check and yes I think I might remove the lock nut for a while until it settles down. |
