Hey hey,

its been a while since i last posted here, ive been travelling europe for 6 months and now its time to get back to reality, and honestly whats reality without a mini. ive bought myself an early christmas present. adam stuarts 850. ill post pics after new years

im wondering if its possible to do an oil filter conversion (i think i read it on here?) at the moment i have the cartridge type, is it a case of changing the diaphragm with the spin on type?

cheers, Leighton

Converting is straight forward, just need the spin on head and possibly the feed pipe that goes outside the block, and a gasket and filter obviously.
:D

The std 850/998/1098 oil feed pipe will fit, but you do need 2 shorter 3/8 UNC studs. I use 2x starter bolts instead, they work fine too.
Note- the spin-on to block gasket is a different shape, the old cartridge one won't work.

Cartridge filters aren't that much work, and it keeps the engine original

Have you considered keeping it?

Changing it over is very straight forward and you can always change it back.

What happened to the green mini?

yeah adam that is true, but the rest of the car isnt completely original, and as ryan says its an easy change back, im just doing it for practibility.

and ryan the green clubby is sitting in the garage waiting to be worked on, i took the engine out last year, with the hope of putting something bigger in, then landed a second job, working way too much, then decided to go to europe and here we are 5 months later.. i needed something to get me around urgently and i thought why not have some fun and thus i bought a mini...

are you guys still meeting up regularly? itd be good to go on a mini run sometime soon.
