I tried to insure our Mini with them a few year ago, but they wouldn't deal with me because the car was in my wifes name. I tried to tell them we were married and that I delt with the car side of things and that dealing with my wife would be hopeless because she doesn't know anything about it. But they refused to deal with me because I wasn't the registered owner of the vehicle.
How would I pre-insure a car that i was about to buy then?
Maybe I just got someone being difficult. I have since tried to insure through their website but it won't insure my Mini for the going rate. So I have given up with them!
2 solutions:
1. you have a conference call between insurer, yourself and your wife to answer their questions, or,
2. you transfer the car over to the other person. In victoria, you can transfer car between spouses without needing a roady or any of that other crap.
3. Call them back and ask to speak to a supervisor.
From what I have seen with various threads about Shannons over the years is that every now and then they seem to get someone on the phone that is not helpful and knows very little about car insurance.
A second call to a different person seem to clear up any problems but by then they might have lost the customer.
